For a respite from sun and swimming, one can visit the stunning town of Tropea with its palaces, alleyways, shops garlanded with dried peppers and Norman cathedral perched on an outcrop. The town is known for its cuisine, the highlights of which are sweet Tropea onions and spicy ‘nduja sausage.
