This emporium dedicated to all things food (and more!) from Italy opened a mega-outpost on Fifth Avenue near 23rd Street.  It’s huge with different areas dedicated to all sorts of foods from Italy: cheese, cold cuts, bread, pizza, gelato, jam, coffee and so on.  There are many offerings that are not well-known in New York.  The pasta section – both fresh and dry – is spectacular.  You can shop and, cart in tow, stop to have something to eat or drink.  Prices are highish but if you’re looking for Italian ingredients this is a place worth visiting.
